>>hair:Dark Brown
>>eyes:Golden, Black when thirsty
>>general appearance: Bella has describes Esme as pale and beautiful with a heart-shaped face with soft, billowing hair that was reminiscent of the ingenious days of the silent-movie eras. Slender, small with less angular features and more rounded than the others of her family. Esme is motherly, you can see that, with slender curves that belied the signs of a past pregnancy though she is in no way fat or chubby. Esme was always slender, especially around the waist and even during her pregnancy with Thomas she was small and slender. Esme has small, delicate features that lie about her true age and even though she is physically the oldest of the Cullens bella has stated she is always amazed by her youth and beauty. Esme's long dark hair goes past her shoulders and is usually done in soft curls. Her clothes match the time and she tends to conspire with Alice about buying clothes, or creating thier own kinds of clothing. Alice is rather fond of buying very expensive clothes while Esme is rather fond of creating them herself. Eitherway she has good fasion sense. Esme's eyes are usually a brilliant golden color and when she gets thirsty they turn black. Her face is appealing with either color but the gold compliments her features more than the dark, harsh black color.

>>personality:
Esme can be described in a few words. Such as loving, motherly, compassionate, and patient. She tends to want to take care of all who run into her, like when Jacob's wolf pack broke from Sam and resided outside thier house. Esme was eager to give them anything and everything they needed, even if Leah was a bit skeptical and rather rude to her. Of course Esme didn't see it that way, she saw Leah as lost and confused, broken off from her own family to follow a belief that she really wasn't into. To come and aide Bella and the Cullen's in thier time of need made Esme very grateful. She is a very generous woman, she gives constantly and never asks for anything. Family is what is important to Esme and she would defend her family with her life. She couldn't imagine surviving without her family beside her and she even proved that point in her human life. Esme lives in the present, but her mind wanders to the what if. She constantly thinks of her little Thomas, her young son who died when he was terribly young. The pain of the memory still leaves a hole in her heart, but every day that she surrounds herself with her family the hole grows smaller. It will forever be there but Esme is living her life like she was meant to. Carlisle is the single reason for her existance, not only because he saved her when she was completely broken, but because of him she was able to experiance having a family, even if they weren't biologically hers. Without Carlisle Esme is sure she would only be half of who she is today.
Esme loves to paint. She finds its relaxing and she's gotten quite good at it and some of her paintings hang within thier home in Forks. Esme created much of the decor for thier home over the years and she comletely designed her and Carlisle's room. She hates when her house is dirty, much like a regular mother, and can be found dusting, cleaning, and straightening things that need it. Many times Carlisle has walked into the house to find his wife with couch in hand vacuuming the area the couch usually is. Sometimes she has Emmett help her, its not a problem for him to lift the many things in the house. She loves to cook meals and ever since Renesmee, Jacob, and Seth started to come to the Cullen house more she was able to cook food constantly. Jacob and Seth's appetite was usually slayed when they stayed at the Cullen's house as Esme especially liked to cook big dinners, complete with turkey or some sort of bird, patatoes, some sort of vegetable and whatever kinds of desserts she could find in her cookbooks. Ever since she started cooking Carlisle and the others would buy her cookbooks, because when Esme was in a good mood, the whole house was in a good mood. Which tells you what happens when Esme gets rather upset. Like when Edward, Emmett, and Jasper decided to mimick the football game inside the living room and trash the couch, the antique cabinent that had lined the back wall, and a very nice, very expensive table that sat before the tv. Needless to say the three boys were made to clean up every last bit while Esme stood by, hands on her hips, lips pursed and eyes glaring at the boys. Carlisle stood in the background, laughing to himself.
Esme could not, and would not, abandon her family for anything. She would fight until she stops moving or she doesn't have anything to fight for. She is so dedicated to her family that it hurts her to leave them, or for them to leave her, even for the shortest amount of time. Esme hates when Carlisle leaves for medical conventions, or when Emmett and Rosalie decided to go on another honeymoon. She understands that they can take care of themselves, and they have had enough time on this earth to understand how to keep themselves safe, but she worries every time they have to leave. She also highly dislikes when Carlisle goes to work, she doesn't like the way the nurses look at him and while the jealousy is petty of her she can't help but feel it. She deserves Carlisle for all she has been through, but she can't get the feeling out that Carlisle will grow out of his love for her, a ridicolous notion but of course its only a small feeling of jealousy, one that Edward likes to tease her for. She takes it in good nature, and every time that Carlisle looks at her the feeling of jealousy, of unease, leaves and she's filled with unconditional love for the man who saved her in more than one way.

>>history:
Esme Cullen was born Esme Anne Platt, to Mr. Richard Platt and Mrs. Anne Platt. She was a pretty easy going baby, she slept rather well through the night as a youngster and she grew up with love and life and happiness in her heart. While her parents were rather strict about what she was to do with her life Esme was only concerned about doing what made her happy, and climbing trees, running with the boys, playing games and getting dirty made her happy. Though when she was sixteen she fell out of a tree and broke her leg, which turned out to be a life-changing incident even if she didn't know it. She was taken to the hospital where Dr. Carlisle Cullen treated her. She found the man highly attractive and was instantly impressed with the older doctor. Soon Esme's leg healed and she went right back to playing tomboy.
Esme quickly discovered what she wanted to do with her life. She wanted to teach young children, she wanted to be around them and when she voiced this opinion to her parents they weren't happy. They wanted her to marry, to live the happy housewife life and be a good little girl. Problem was that she had never wanted that, she wanted to be with children, she wanted to have a family of course, but she wanted to do something with her life. But of course her family would not allow it and to appease them at the 'old' age of twenty-two she married a man whoms he believed was a good man. His name was Charles Evenson and her family had known him practically all his life. Charles turned out to be rather abusive and while Esme had not been a timid woman her family pressured her to keep quiet about the abuse. So once again to appease the family she loved so much she endured the torment without complaint.
Then the world went to war and Charles was drafted, taken from his home to fight in the war. Esme found peace for the first time in a long while and she enjoyed it greatly. She learned to paint and draw, she had an affinity with decorating and she felt the ease and freedom of doing that. Then Charles returned and once again the abuse started up. She once again kept her mouth closed, hiding the abuse, and when she found out she was pregnant a flash of fear for her unborn child. She knew she couldn't stay with Charles, he would end up killing thier baby with the abuse he gave. So she ran away to her cousin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She stayed with her cousin until Charles came knocking on her door, she then ran to Ashland and posed as a war widow. She became a school teacher to support herself and fell in love with it. On a rather dull, dreary day in 1921 her son was born. She named him Thomas and couldn't be prouder. For two days she loved her baby, her motherly instincts, which were soo strong for so long had burst forth. No where had she ever been happier. Then, her baby died from lung fever.
Struck with the worst pain possible Esme resovled that she had nothing to live for anymore. She couldn't have a good life with Charles, she had lost her baby, and her family wanted her to conform, not to be happy. So Esme found the tallest cliff she could and plunged off of it. They found her beaten and broken body on the ground and not trying to save her life they deemed her dead and she went to the morgue. It was there that Dr. Carlisle Cullen recognized the girl from so long ago. He made the decision to turn her and so began her three painful days. She writhed in agony, the fire that spread through her was too much to bear. Several times she had screamed out, kill me please kill me. But when she woke her bones were healed, her flesh was pure and untainted. She opened her blood red eyes and the first thing she noticed was the intense burning sensation in her throat. She found Carlisle waiting for her, he explained what he had done and Esme couldn't understand the look on his face. Like he had done something horrible to her.
She smiled softly, telling him that she was grateful. She easily fell into the role of Veggie Vampire, willing to let Carlisle show her the ways of his life. The more she got to know the man the more she felt connected to him. Finally, they both fell in love and were legally married. She has forever been at his side since. It was rough the first few years of being a newborn. She had to struggle with the thirst and the three times she lost control she felt deep grief and guilt. If Carlisle hadn't been there she probably would have not survived. Then Carlisle brought Esme home and introduced her to Edward, Esme instantly fell into the role of mother. Esme will forever have a soft spot for Edward. He was her first adopted child, her first 'baby' after Thomas and while Edward had his moments she could easily imagine her little Thomas having grown up to be the man Edward was turning into.
Esme was glad when Jasper and Alice joined, accepting them immediately, the strange girl and quiet young man were eagerly included in her family. She was eager to begin a family with Carlisle and it seemed like Esme's dream of being her own person while having a family was coming true. Soon Rosalie joined the family and Esme was thrilled once again. While each had thier own issues it was Esme they could turn to talk to. It was Esme who became the loving, maternal figure that each could go to for comfort. When Edward was in his 'human tasting' phase he could trust Esme to love without judging. And she did. She let him have his space while letting him know she was there for him. When Rosalie brought Emmett back Esme was happy for her.
For years the Cullens learned, lived and loved. They moved from Alaska to Forks, to several other sites but they seemed to favor Forks and Denali, Alaska. Thier 'cousins' always welcomed them with open arms. There was hope in Esme for awhile for Edward when Tanya began to show interest in Edward. She hoped that Edward would find love like the rest of them. But her hopes were dashed when Edward didn't return the feelings. He always was amused by her adament worry about his love life and Esme simply told him, I want you to be happy. Between the time that Emmett joined the coven to the time that Edward found Bella Esme had enrolled in classes, became a stay at home mother, found her passion in architecture, drawing, and listening to Edwards compositions.
Then Edward brought Bella home and Esme was full of love for the girl. She immediately welcomed Bella into the family, even if Rosalie was a bit hesitant to welcome her. The first time that Bella came over Esme was just ecstatic. She couldn't stop making food and scurrying around to make sure things were perfect for when the young human girl arrived. And when they did it was a little awkward. Her dinner that she had made was in no need, and whats worse Rosalie dropped one of her glass bowls. If she could have blushed she would have. She hurriedly assured Bella that it was fine that she ate already and shooed Rosalie to clean up the mess. Esme spent the rest of the evening, after encouraging Edward to play the song he created for Bella, next to Carlisle, entertaining him and her both with a new book she had found. Of course Carlisle had read it in his long life but he dutifully embarked on the adventure that the book brought with Esme.
A few days later they invited Bella to a baseball game. Esme offered to play umpire, she was the only one who didn't take sides and try to cheat when umpire. She asked Bella if she'd like to be umpire as well. Before the game starts Esme tells Bella some of her human life, and also how she had come to love Edward as her son. She expressed her gratitude that Bella and Edward had found love. Though she didn't say anything Esme also knew that it would bring trouble. But Bella was part of thier family and whatever trouble came Esme would back Bella and Edward all the same. Then James' coven showed up and Esme tried to hide Bella, but James caught scent of her. The whole coven sprang into action, even Rosalie, as they formed a protective line infront of the young human girl. Esme's motherly instinct had rose up, a snarl building in her throat as her face became stone as she surveyed the group. Esme hated to fight, but she would not stand by to let her family be threatened.
They raced home and Esme and Rosalie donned Bella's clothes to leave a false trail. While Carlisle, Emmett, and Edward hunt James, Esme and Rosalie stay behind to protect Bella's father. Alice and Jasper had taken Bella to Pheonix but James had followed there. Esme was concerned for all of her family, but she hated being so far from Carlisle, even if he was with Emmett and Edward. After constantly keeping watch over Charlie Esme recieved a call. James was dead, Bella was hurt but she would be fine. Esme and Rosalie were home when the group returned. Esme made sure to check over each and every one that went through her door. And when Carlisle walked through she simply embraced him.
Things resumed as normal, the family split into thier normal roles. Jasper, Alice, Edward, Emmett, and Rosalie returned to school while Esme took a few classes at a College in Seattle and Carlisle returned to work. When Esme wasn't going out to find antiques she was at home, reading, painting or drawing. She even redecorated her and Carlisle room one afternoon. Carlisle was pleasantly surprised. Then Alice stated she was going to have a birthday party for Bella and Esme and Carlisle agreed that two tickets to see Bella's mother would be a wonderful gift. Esme wasn't so daft she didn't notice that Bella was more of a warm climate kind of girl. When her birthday arrived and Alice handed Bella thier gift to her Esme wasn't prepared for the scent of Bella's blood when she sliced her finger. Jasper, being the newest, leapt into action and Esme froze in horror. Emmett and Edward subdued Jasper and Rosalie took Edward's place, dragging Jasper out. Esme followed, apologizing for her behavior as she struggled with herself. Deeply ashamed she left the house, following Jasper, Emmett, and Rosalie.
Jasper felt her shame and thought it was directed at him. But Esme made it clear that she was ashamed of herself. She couldn't resist and it brought back terrible memories and feelings. After Carlisle fixed Bella up he came for Esme, comforting her as she tried hard to get the scent of Bella's blood out of her head. She goes to clean the blood up, her control back in place and she once again apologized to Bella as she left. Edward asked Carlisle to move the family and much to Esme's dismay he relents. They move to Alaska to live with thier Denali cousins and Esme sets forth in restoring a 17th century house. She drowns herself in work, Edward had gone off as well as Rosalie and Emmett. When the house is just about finished Esme recieved news from Rosalie that Bella had jumped off a cliff. Deeply upset about this Esme goes to Carlisle to talk about it. Soon afterwards they find out that Edward has gone to Italy. This unsettles Esme and she frets, not even Carlisle can console her. She feels hope when Alice and Bella go to Italy to prevent this.
The Cullens go to meet Edward, Bella, and Alice when they get off the plane and she tells Edward, rather vehemently not to EVER scare her like that again. She also thanks Bella for bringing her son back, her appreciation shown as she embraces the girl. When they return to Forks there is a vote on whether Bella should be turned and Esme votes yes. She states that Bella is already part of the family and would stand behind Bella's decision. Things then once again return to normal, or atleast as normal as you can get, until graduation. The Cullen's are concerned about the amount of death in Seattle and they quickly figure out that someone is building a newborn army. They ask for aide from the Denali's but they refuse. The werewolves, whom had created a treaty with the Cullen's long before Bella was born, had killed Laurent and Irina wanted no part of that. So instead the werewolves come to the Cullen's aide. Esme is concerned with fighting, she doesn't like to kill, even if its necessary, and she especially didn't like practice fighting with Jasper.
But during the fight she and Carlisle paired up and between the two they fought well. When it was over Carlisle and Esme found a young newborn, frightened and hiding. Esme took pity on her and Carlisle offered her safety if she didn't try anything. Jasper took over when they brought the young girl, named Bree, over and Esme couldn't help but feel a little upset at the way Jasper was treating her. While she could understand why Jasper was wary of the young girl, she couldn't help but feel as if he was being a little harsh with her. Suddenly Alice announced that the Volturi where hear and Esme sidled up to Carlsile, her hand wrapping around his waist. She never really liked the Volturi, they were cold and utterly bitter. When asked why Bree was spared Esme spoke up, saying she surrendered and they would take responsibility for her. Despite her and Carlisle's assurance Jane orders Bree's execution. Esme can hardly watch and turns to face Carlisle, staring blankly at his shirt while Bree is coldly murdered.
But good was to come out of this as Bella and Edward announced they were getting married. To forget the Newborn fight Esme plunges into helping Alice get ready for the wedding and is eager to help. She greets her Denali cousins with warmth, she could never hold anything against them. It was a decision they made and now it was time to move on. Irina was unahppy with the werewolf Seth being at the wedding and Esme felt rather bad that Irina couldn't forgive and forget. The wedding was beautiful and Esme was glad that Edward and Bella were finally together. After the reception she helped Bella into her going-away outfit. Unknown to Bella Esme had given Isle Esme to the newlyweds for thier honeymoon, knowing that it was a wonderful place. Isle Esme had been a present from Carlisle and she adored that place. They made a trip there as much as Carlisle career could allow. It was a favorite spot for thier anniversaries.
While they were away things were quiet. The wolf pack was anxious though, Jacob Black, whom had loved Bella nearly as much as Edward had, disappeared. Esme wished she could say something to the young boy but the Cullen's weren't really liked by the La Push pack. The call came on a sunny afternoon while Carlisle and Esme were lounging in the living room, Esme drawing a portrait of Emmett and Rosalie curled up on the couch. She always told Rosalie she would never be able to capture her beauty in her drawings. Rosalie always told her she was being too modest. The state of the house quickly changed as Carlisle spoke to Edward. Fear sprang into Esme's heart, fear for Bella, fear for the baby that wasn't born. It was after they were anxiously waiting for Bella to come home when Rosalie approached her. She asked Esme for help, to stand with Bella and Rose while Bella was pregnant. Bella wanted the baby. Esme made the decision to stand behind Bella and Rose. Emmett obviously followed Rosalie on this one and even though Esme had taken a side she wished that the house wouldn't be so divided.
Carlisle wouldn't touch the baby if Bella said no. Esme tried to make Bella as comfortable as possible and constantly tried to find answers with Carlisle. When Jacob comes and informs them that Sam has declared the baby a monster and that the treaty is off Esme becomes increasingly worried. None of the Cullen's have fed and an attack by the wolf pack would mean a blood bath. Esme provides clothes and food for the renegade pack and even offers them beds in the house. But Leah will not have anything to do with it, much to Esme's dismay. Seth, though, seems utterly comfortable with the Cullens and even gives Esme a reason to cook. She highly enjoys cooking and Esme was grateful that Seth gave her a reason to start. When the thirst became too much to bear Carlisle spoke to Jacob, trying ot find a way to go hunting. Jacob creates a diversion and Carlisle, Esme, Jasper, and Emmett go hunting.
During their hunt Bella has her baby, a baby girl Renesmee and Sam's pack attacks. Esme, Emmett, and Carlisle arrive as Alice, Jasper, Seth and Leah are fighting Sam's pack. The break apart, lining back up to assess their opponents when Jacob bursts from the house, telling Sam to back off. Esme fears for her family, especially the baby in the house, but Jacob reveals he has imprinted on Renesmee. Because of the Wolf law Sam cannot kill Renesmee and peace settles over the area. Esme falls in love with Renesmee and takes care of her along with Rosalie and the rest of the Cullens as Bella is in the process of being turned into a vampire. When Bella awakes Esme just has a feeling that she would be fine. Bella proves to be an extrodinary vampire and for her nineteenth birthday Esme and the rest of the Cullen's present her with a cottage that Esme had decorated herself.
Bella and Edward move there with Renesmee and things start to finally look up. Seth had made the Cullen's his second home much to Esme's delight. She was able to cook for Jacob, Seth and occassionally Renesmee. She has found much delight in Renesmee and being a grandmother, something she never would have though possible. Her family is complete now and she was utterly happy. Until news that the Volturi were coming brought another dark cloud over the Cullen house. An idea to gather witness's to prove that Nessie was not an immortal child brought some hope to the Cullens but when Alice and Jasper disappeared an even darker cloud hung overhead. Esme was devestated and she couldn't believe that Alice and Jasper had really left. The day that they came Esme stood by Carlisle's side, all of thier witness's around them along with the Werewolves, well Shifters, and they succeeded in making the Volturi pause. Bella had discovered her ability, the ability to shield both herself and others.
Things were looking bleak until Edward spoke. Alice! Esme's heart felt like it was going to burst in relief and the minute that Alice came into the clearing Esme greated her with a quick hug. Alice brought a Hybrid, one that was old and proved that Nessie would not be dangerous. The Volturi left, though Esme was certain they would be back, and things slowly returned to normal. Esme made Carlisle promise her they would return to Isle Esme soon for some time alone. After all that had happened Esme felt the need to be alone with her husband. But not for too long, she couldn't leave her family alone for long.

Deep in needed sleep the young man had pushed the heavy blankets down past his chest, his head laying on his arm as his other arm dangled over the edge of the bed. Last night had been spent traveling far from the little town as to not get caught. He had went hunting in Seattle, his thirst was something he had a hard time denying and so with his hightened predatory senses he had gone to feast. Well, he only took one life, a rather hopeless case that was harrassing another human being. So he interfered and took his life away. But now he dreamed of a warm, dense forest that had many other wolves in it, all sorts of sizes and particularly a very large black wolf that was snarling at an equally large russet wolf. Suddenly Remus' brilliant blue eyes snapped open and he sat up. He inhaled deeply, the scent of hybrid streaming down his nose and filling him with a sense of ease.
He looked around for signs of Carmela and when none could be found he sighed, getting up and reaching for a pair of clean, stolen pants. They fit him rather well, he was used to grabbing the right size quickly and bolting out of a store. Sure, it was a rather harsh lifestyle but when he could get a job, he took it. He didn't like to steal, but then again he didn't like it because others say it was bad. He reached for a plain blue shirt and shoved it over his head and covered his lean stomach. He walked into the bathroom to brush his teeth and run a hand through his hair before exiting, the bathroom and shoving on a pair of socks and his shoes. He let out a yawn and stretched his hands above his head before exiting the room, his eyes searching the hall. The rather tall young man sauntered down the hallway, smiling at those who pass him and making sure to wink at the lady at the desk, her pale skin blushing as a rather charming smile spread across his handsome face when he looked over at her. When Carmela and Remy had shown up at the hotel it only took a little persuasion on Remy's part to convince the young lady to let him and his 'little' sister stay for a few nights.
Remus knew how Carmela felt about using her ability and so he tried to make it easier on the younger child. When they had first met it took one touch and Remy completely understood where Carmela came from and how much pain she had endure. Not necessarily physical pain, but it was enough for Remus to be convinced they would do much better as a group. And from that day they had traveled together, she had just come from Italy, he had wandered towards the coastline, and they had made the decision to make thier way westward. And now they were in Forks, Washington, a dismal wet and rather isolated place that didn't suite his tastes at all. He liked the city, the hustle and bustle, the always doing something, always there was something going on. But he had relented when Carmela asked to travel over this way and he currently was regretting that idea. There was something here, something that smelt very much like the shifters where he came from. He had also brushed up against one of the trees in the forest, towards an indian reservation the other day on his way to Seattle and the vision of a large black wolf followed by a pack of various sized wolves had assaulted his vision. Of course it wasn't a current vision, it was of the past but it still made him nervous.
He entered the little restuarant and immediately spotted Carmela. He smiled softly, making his way to the table to slide down into a seat across from the girl. "Hey, Carma" He grinned at her, since the day that he had met Carmela he had chosen Carma as her nickname. According to him it was the perfect nickname for her considering that her father wanted to create her to be a weapon of his and she had become the exact opposite. Karma! "I couldn't help but hear your having a burger and fries, a bit early for lunch isn't it?" The waitress returned then and he flashed her a rather attractive smile before winking at Carma. "S'cuse me miss, can I get some pancakes? And some bacon too?" She smiled down at Remy and nodded. He turned to look at Carma, waiting for the woman to go away so he could discuss his findings with her.
